AFC-OK Thanks Legislature and Governor Stitt for Signing SB 684 Into Law

The American Federation for Children – Oklahoma (AFC-OK) today praised Governor Kevin Stitt and the Oklahoma Legislature for their continued commitment to educational opportunity with the signing of Senate Bill 684, which makes important enhancements to the Oklahoma Parental Choice Tax Credit program.

“SB 684 strengthens one of the most impactful school choice programs in the nation,” said Jennifer Carter, Senior Advisor for AFC-OK. “By giving priority access to returning families and ensuring more timely payments, we will now help more students receive a stable and uninterrupted education in the setting that best fits their needs. We’re grateful to the bill’s authors and to Governor Stitt for their commitment to Oklahoma families and students.”

SB 684 creates a new priority status for families who previously received the tax credit (after households with annual incomes below $150,000). It also streamlines the process to provide timely payments, giving families more financial certainty.

SB 684 was authored by Senate Pro Tem Lonnie Paxton, Senator Julie Daniels, Senator Ally Seifried, House Speaker Kyle Hilbert, and Representative Ajay Pittman.
